I believe with Mac that the church is far from perfect. I believe that in fact some churches do more harm than good, and should probably not even be called churches. I believe that churches need to change, and that we have a responsibilty to work to restore the church to biblical models. Its just that in a local congregation where there is division (for example one half wanting to raise their hands in worship and the other half thinking... Read more

Over at Ochuk’s Blog in a post “The Value of Church” the Mac Swift view of church is still being discussed! In my view churches only change in the direction their leaders want to take them. Staying in a church to change its direction is rebellion. We must find churches we can submit to and work with the leaders to change! Read more

MAc is being concilliatory! Having quoted the following Scripture- Jeremiah 23:3-4 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. Mac says “I believe for many others... Read more

Yesterday Tony BLair made a crucial speech. The full texi is available at The Guardian: “The threat we face is not conventional. It is a challenge of a different nature from anything the world has faced before. It is to the world’s security, what globalisation is to the world’s economy. It was defined not by Iraq but by September 11th. September 11th did not create the threat Saddam posed. But it altered crucially the balance of risk as to whether... Read more

Mac has gone too far this time. If he hadnt gone too far already with his original comment this certainly is beyond the pale- Sure,.but that was back then in a time when godly churches actually existed and were there for each other. Nowadays, such churches have been replaced by the “synagogues of Satan.” Those so adamant about driving me to church are probably not aware that they attend such a synagogue themselves. Where on earth is your theology of... Read more

Mac: “It would suggest that I could not commune by prayer and spirit with Christians who are say, in California, or in Israel, and so on. It may not have the benefit of person to person contact, but Warren and those like him appear to completely discount the benefits of communing with the body of Christ by spirit rather than by physical presence.” Now that paragraph shows the confused thinking typical of Macs position. Is he saying he cant commune... Read more

Joshua Claybourn’s Domain described the so called: “Christian/Western practice of circumcision.” Now this has always interested me, as I understand that circumscison is more widespread in the US than the UK. Over here, most Christians would see this as a JEWISH or MUSLIM practice (although a few might believe the myths about a health benefit.) Personally I cringe at the thought of circumcising my kids, and would not see this as in any way a Christian act- in fact Paul... Read more

Rebecca Writes on my blog comment section ‘Can you find any scripture that gives anything that God sees within fallen human beings as his motivation for redemption?’ I cant and I am sure you cant either. The gauntlet is laid down…….Any takers? Read more

Sarah’s Stuff!reports: “My cousin went and saw the passion and cried her eyes out- afterwards, she went to church and devoted her life to Jesus Christ. That sounds like a changed life if you ask me.” Of course, not to be too picky, but I guess we would all like to know what kind of Christian did she devote herself to being? Is this one of those films that we all bring our prejudices to? Does an atheist leave more... Read more
