Tonight I told my kids the story of the man with a garment of camel’s hair otherwise known as John the Baptist. There were two pearls of wisdom from Tamasin- Firstly that John must have smelt really bad and that perhaps the people were coming who also wanted to smell bad!!! She then said when I asked her if she understood why John didnt think he deserved to carry Jesus Sandals, she said ‘Of course he didnt deserve to, Jesus... Read more

This is more deaths than any of the world wars. What started as a get out for extreme cases is now abortion on demand. Despite the risks to women’s health from abortion most abortions are now done on the basis that ANY pregnancy is more risky for the woman’s health than continued pregnancy. This appears simply to be untrue, and is certainly not what the UK law had in mind. For more information on the Ethics of abortion visit the... Read more

Whether its fathers being electrocuted perhaps for crimes they didn’t commit, or child murder, famine, war, it is always the most vulnerable that suffer most. The fact that every week 1 or 2 children are murdered, mostly in their own home in the UK breaks my heart. The cry for God’s kingdom to please come, removing the evil that happens in the world is never more intense than when one is looking into the face of a suferring child. Their... Read more

Well, new job, now new small group at church, with old one and students being given to another man. Its almost enough to give a man a midlife crisis! No seriously, it has been all change recently but change is great. It is so exciting to be able to hand over things that I have nurtured to another who I trust fully to do well with it. After all we are not trying to build our own kingdom are we?... Read more

Isnt it funny the difference a word can make. A bare faced lie becomes a spin and is somehow more acceptable. As far as Mr Blairs apparent addiction to Mr Campbell goes, surely Blair would be better off without the man that stops him from ‘doing God’ and seems according to todays times to have influenced the security forces to spin a little web of their own……. The government is seen as having spun the threat from Saddam’s weapons just... Read more

My poor wife had to cope with me being in the USA shortly after I started my new job. I am sure she would have agreed with a woman who was quoted in the telegraph as sayinghaving his comatose body home two days ahead of his mind drives me nuts. This was certainly true of me after that trip! In fact I slept for ages on my return and twice thought I was in my hotel room on waking up.... Read more

The fact that Tony Blair was interrupted by Campbell during an interview with the reminded ‘we don’t do God’ is surely shocking. An editorial in the London Daily Telegraph on Monday 5th May 2003 wryly comments: One could write a book about everything that this little intervention has to tell us about Mr Blair and his style of government, and about Britain in 2003…… Further evidence of Number 10’s anxiety to avoid religious rhetoric during the Iraq war emerged yesterday... Read more

Five Points: Reforming Healthcare in Britain I expect it would be fair enough to describe the current UK NHS as near communist in its ideals! Actually it is arguably a good system in desperate need of more funding (which it appears to be getting) more local accountability (which the governement has recently tackled head on with new legislation to set up foundation hospitals) more availability accross the country of new medications (which www.NICE.org.uk is addressing), more national standard checking and... Read more

Wiping churches off Britain’s Ordnance Survey maps would be an act of cultural and topographical vandalism so says yesterdays times. This is yet another indication to join Tony Blair being told by his cronies not to say ‘God Bless’ at the end of his talk to the nation that we are probably the most godless nation on earth. Well Christianity is dead long live Christianity. We have been here before as a nation, and each time the old faith bounces... Read more

Bible Gateway : PROV 3; Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight (or direct) your paths. I remain convinced that these words are a good foundation for any life. My grandfather was told them by his father on his death bed and the words have been precious to Warnock’s ever since (if not before!) I am sure that life is... Read more
