Image via Wikipedia It’s not just for Sundays anymore! Or, it shouldn’t be. In all truth, however, I don’t think I spend a lot of time worshipping when I’m not at church. And that’s something I’d like to change. In the first books of both Kings and Chronicles, we see King David worshipping at so many times, and when in so many situations that it’s obvious that he did it all the time. I know that in the past I’ve... Read more

Image via CrunchBase A marathon, not a telethon, and you don’t read while you run for 26 miles (though that’s an intriguing possibility)! No, the only running involved was when I ran across an online 90-day Bible reading plan (courtesy of a site called YouVersion). It sounded like an intriguing possibility, and a good way to both bolster my spirits in general, and keep me occupied while Sophia’s in Rome for this semester, so I decided to take the plunge.... Read more

Image via Wikipedia Took Sophia to O’Hare yesterday to fly to Italy for her semester abroad! Frankly, I’m still exhausted, and I’m hitting the hay early. I stayed up really late to make sure her plane landed safely, and I didn’t get nearly enough sleep last night. So I’m going to try to make up for it today! Read more

Image by Abu-Edrees via Flickr I don’t think it matters whether you’ve had a hurricane, or just been depressed for a while, but after the storm is over, there’s a lot of picking up to do. Some of the debris is physical (dishes to wash, laundry to fold, clutter to be cleared), and some of it is mental (apologizing, making amends, trying to get people to trust you…). I’m not sure which is worse. My regular depressive cycles are troublesome... Read more

Image via Wikipedia This has been a rough couple of weeks. I thought I was actually getting better last Friday, but then had another huge disappointment, which put me right back where I started. Then I came up out of that, only to get kicked in the teeth again Monday afternoon. But I rallied a lot faster this time, and was pretty much back on track by evening. I was so tempted to just give up, give up, give up.... Read more

Sorry, it’s been a while… I know, I know… I’ve just been so depressed… All the usual tricks are not working… Nothing is working… Figured I’d better post… Pray for me… Read more

One of my favorite sayings, and it’s never failed me yet. Today was one of those days, and I’m just leaving it at that. Related articles Does Everything Happen For A Reason? (ronnlehmann.wordpress.com) Read more

It’s already started. I had big plans to accomplish a whole lot today, and so today is the day that everything is coming up to try to make sure I don’t! I’d say that’s natural, but I’m not sure if it is. Thankfully, I was able to sense, already, that this is going to be one of those days, good for developing patience, and I can really only attribute it to the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, I’d be a hitting the... Read more

Image via Wikipedia There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. ~ Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act I, Scene V. More things is right! Of this I have no doubt, but I can’t prove it. Well, I can’t prove it to anyone else. I don’t need any proof on my end. I’ve seen enough strange things to have no more doubts about the presence of things beyond our immediate perception. This puts me right... Read more

Image by cjbakker via Flickr I’ll admit it. I’m eating whole berry cranberry sauce straight from the can. (Gotta add though, it’s amazing on vanilla ice cream!) Other things I do: Take naps; Play computer games that are a ridiculous waste of time; Spend money on cut flowers and other non-essentials; Go out to eat; and Eat dessert INSTEAD of a meal! I enjoy all these things (and many more), and even though I feel guilty—it’s only a little. What... Read more
