The first day of the New Year – in the Otherfaith, today is the day when the gods split from their shared residence and get to work again. And so it is for me. The week of Reunion was as much of a religious break as I could give myself. Now, we start again.
2013 was an intense year for me. I started blogging here at Patheos. I met a lot of people who have helped shape me and influenced my life in a better direction. I learned a lot in 2013. Not as much as I wanted, but a lot all the same.
But 2014 is here, which is awesome.
I think if there’s a resolution I want to make, during this time when the gods are taking flight, is that I want to strive to be happier. Sillier. Less serious.
More committed, but a lot less solemn.
I also am going to resolve to be cuter, but that’s going to be ridiculously hard since I am already adorable.
Honestly, I’m not sure what all I’ll be writing about in 2014. I’m resolving to write more about the Otherfaith (and also other non-religious works) and to hopefully actually write and publish a portion of the myths so that they are more easily read. But how to write, when to write it, what to write – that continues to slip through my fingers. I suspect I’ll need coffee to help.
So, gladly, with coffee in hand, hello to 2014. It’s going to be one amazing year.
