As a non-profit management consultant, I absolutely love this quote from Edhi. His understanding of self-reliance and self-determination is a powerful concept we should adopt as individuals, community leaders and organization leaders. We must come to a point where we have trust in Allah and a strong determination to blaze our own trails. By keeping ourselves free of over-reliance on others, we will be forced to do the hard work that it takes to make a success of our work, whatever that may be.
