Your response may not change the hearts and mind of the politicians in question, but it is still an act of resistance against hate filled language. Often times individuals don’t respond out of a fear of not having enough knowledge about the situation or the ability to use the correct language, but it’s far better to say something rather than nothing at all (better explained in the next section). If you question whether or not your response is fitting for the situation, research how other Muslim leaders and allies of the Muslim community are responding.
