Israel: turning the wheel of retribution

Buddhist thoughts:

1. This is clearly a case of the hand (Israel) shooting the foot (Gaza) rather than pulling out the thorn (Hamas).
2. As we suffer with (practice compassion) the people of Gaza and Israel, it is wise also to practice equanimity and acceptance so that we are not overwhelmed.
3. As we look out and see so much suffering, rooted in greed, hatred, and delusion, we should look inward, too, to see that we are connected to that, out there, through our own greed, hatred, and delusion. We must have peace within as we work for peace in the world.
