3. Becoming angry when asked questions about where we go or who we have been with that day.
This is a BIG sign that something is off in our marriage. As I stated before, we shouldn’t keep any secrets from our spouse, so there is no reason to have a short fuse when asked about our phone conversations or daily activity. In fact, these kinds of questions are usually asked only when trust has been threatened.
So, if you or your spouse is exhibiting this sign, don’t freak out. When you are calm, sit down and have a heart-to-heart with him or her, and discuss the WHOLE truth. A hurtful truth that is brought out in the open is always better than a hidden lie that is secretly wearing down our marriage.
When we address the whole truth, healing can begin.
If you or your spouse is being digitally unfaithful, then you/he/she will need to make sure there are no passwords or secret phones/computers/devices. I also encourage you to invest in a filter for the devices and our WIFI, like Circle by Disney.
These steps will allow you or your spouse to detox from the unhealthy relationships and activities, and you/he/she can work to rebuild trust.
