Thanksgiving is in three days! Can you believe it? The turkey, the sides, the football, the parades, the hours with those you love–Thanksgiving is an amazing holiday full of love and traditions. Even so, why not take things up a notch and make it extra fun this year?
Thanksgiving is all about spending time with our loved ones and celebrating all that we have to be thankful for. Yet, many of us end up rushing the meal due to fussy kids and busy schedules or congregating around the television with little to no meaningful conversation. So, here are 5 ways to make Thanksgiving more fun and memorable this year:
1. Do a 5K with your family members the morning of Thanksgiving.
This is becoming a popular option in many cities around the U.S.. In our town, it’s called the “Turkey Trot 5K.” What better way to start Turkey Day than to burn off a ton of calories in a 5K? As with most 5Ks, there is lots of excitement and camaraderie around the event, and you will feel so accomplished when you finish–and ready to take on a delicious feast. Check your local newspaper or Active.com for more information on races near you. It’s not to late to sign up for one in your area this year, so go for it!
