Stepping Out and Saying YES

I’m so glad I said YES to Africa. My time there developed relationships and birthed in me a passion to do something. I choose not to focus on all the reasons that would make sense for me NOT to do something- like being a mother or having full time employment outside the home.

Mother Theresa said, “I can’t do everything, but I can do something.”

Since I was in South Africa last, the churches have grown.  They’ve expanded one of the buildings, and a small fundraiser I had for my 30th birthday helped them to begin their own garden to grow for a soup kitchen and for the locals to maintain. I also launched a non-profit company to focus on water relief efforts- with the first project being in South Africa. It’s so exciting to be a part of something bigger, something growing, something humane and beautiful.
