What Does it Really Mean to “Talk” to Jesus? (and a GIVEAWAY)

In Jeannie Blackmer’s beautiful devotional, Talking to Jesus: A Fresh Perspective on Prayer, she reveals 21 key encounters people had with God in the flesh. In each section, Blackmer includes a description of the encounter, a “Personal Response” section on how this encounter can impact our prayer life, a “Reflection” section filled with verses for personal meditation, and an “Observation” section with thoughtful questions for the reader to consider. Each reading is fairly short in length and helps the reader to unpack the true meaning of each encounter with Jesus.

As I read each devotion, I love how Blackmer brings the encounters with Jesus to life by using vivid details and illustrations. She really knows how to draw readers into what each person was probably thinking and feeling during their encounter with Jesus. For example, when Blackmer described the men bringing the paralytic to Jesus (Matthew 9:2), she included details like this found on page 29…
