A New Moon is a great time to set out your intentions for the following month, and Monday’s New Moon in Aries is packing a particular punch. But attempting to “manifest” something alone isn’t going to do it for you. So, in true Aries style, allow me to say: sit down, shut up, and pay attention. You could end up wasting this opportunity.

But first, an old joke, slightly modified to address the subject of “manifesting”:
New Age Nancy loved manifesting, and she loved using the word “abundance” a lot. Every day she’d chant and comb her chakras and write letters to the Universe about how all she really wanted was to win the lottery. She did this religiously (except of course she’d never call it that) day after day, year after year, without any results.
One fine day during a New Moon in Aries, New Age Nancy was sitting cross-legged and chanting towards the East, when there was a mighty rumbling sound. “Nancy!” a tremendous voice shouted.
The clouds parted to reveal the gigantic shining face of New Age Nancy’s Divine High Ascended Master Spirit Guide (who went by the name of Mister Mxyzptlk) peering down from Heaven (or perhaps it was Shambala — the records are unclear).
“Mister Mxyzptlk!” Nancy shouted excitedly. “Are you here to help me win the lottery, at long last?”
Mister Mxyzptlk frowned. “Come on, Nancy… meet me half way. Get off your ass and go buy a ticket.”

Monday’s New Moon in Aries is a powerful time to start making some changes in your life. Think of it as a day when your New Year’s Resolution has an actual chance to get somewhere. But it isn’t magic. It won’t do the work for you. You want to make more money? Finally start writing that novel? Improve your love life? Great. Monday is a spectacular opportunity to get to work on that. But once you’re launched you intention, put some actual work into it (and do so on an ongoing basis) if you want to actually get results.
Or, as Aries might put it: Get off your ass and go buy a ticket.
