“Shhhh, My Mom is Sleeping”

I’m never one for those “motherhood is beautiful” inspiration cards, books, videos, or mugs. Motherhood usually feels anything but beautiful, and those rare moments when it does seem beautiful are too transcendent to be captured by trite sentimentalism.

This one is different. It’s exceptionally well-done. Watch it.

It would have been perfect if they had added a few times-outs and a little more yelling and crying.

What? Honesty is the best medium for conveying beauty.

But seriously, I’m grateful to this filmmaker. It’s the rare motherhood tribute that makes me feel worthwhile as a mother, but this one really, really did.
