Stressed Out and Overworked? Stop What You’re Doing and Try This… June 18, 2019

Let’s face it, we live in a stressful fast-paced world. With a million things to get done and only so many hours in the day, it’s no wonder that we get stressed out. As someone who tends to be anxious and likes to be in control, I have some advice for you. It’s going to sound crazy, but it will bring you peace if you give it a chance. It will also help you to get more done. Oh, and in case you don’t trust me, let me tell you one more thing. This advice isn’t from me. It’s from God…

“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

It’s Not As Crazy As It Sounds

I know. When you first hear this it sounds crazy, but pay closer attention to what the Lord is saying. He’s not telling you to drop all your work and do nothing. That would make no sense, especially when you have a lot to get done. What he’s saying is that you should pause and recognize that he is God. That makes a big difference.

God Is All-Powerful

You have limitations and that’s why you’re stressed. God knows this and that’s why he offers this great advice. Once we pause and reflect on his power, we eventually come to the conclusion that he can help us. Sure, I can only do so much, but he can do all things. Then the obvious next step is…

Ask Him To Help

In the middle of writing this post, I forced myself to do something I didn’t want to do. I was feeling the pressure to finish, but I stepped away from the computer, sat down and spent some time with the Lord. I remembered that he was God and asked him to help me finish the post. I felt better.

I also think he did a pretty good job. Hope you do too!
