How to you respond to a crisis? Depending on the severity of the problem, my typical response has always been to panic. Even though it served no purpose, spiraling out of control is something I’m very familiar with. As I grow closer to Jesus, however, I’m realizing that asking him to help is much more productive than freaking out. How easy is it for Jesus to perform miracles? Check this out…

After he left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded with him about her. He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and waited on them. (Luke 4:38-39)

The friends and family of Simon’s mother-in-law asked Jesus to heal her and what happened? He told the fever to take a hike and it was gone. Just like that, we have a miracle!

What are you worried about today? Finances, a health issue, relationship problems, a sinful habit that you can’t shake? Jesus specializes in hopeless situations. Turn to him and confidently ask for what you need. If he doesn’t answer immediately, keep asking. He will answer. As you can see from the incident with Simon’s mother-in-law, the mere sound of his voice can instantly fix your problem. Don’t give up. He will answer when the time is right in the best possible way. He’s really THAT powerful!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
