For their short pithy brilliant whimsical way of saying things, I love to collect Twitter and other Quality Quintessential quips, quotes, questions, musings and maxims from the furthest reaches of the internet to the obscure book hidden in the dusty corner of some long forgotten book store and save them for a rainy day post. I just might need some wonderful wordful beauty to express a sentiment or idea in what I’m writing so I created this particular post with that purpose in mine.
Tweeting to the Choir: A Collection of Tweets
Janet@Mystagogy1013: Tweeting to the choir gives us all support and encouragement, which is much needed in these days.
This peculiarly particular post is the offspring of that larger post with a more specific focus in mind from a topic listed in that larger post. It is also but one of the many children of that post. You can go big or go home to this shorter post and pluck what you need from the collected treasure of the Broad Chorus of Catholic Thinkers and similar like minded individuals and insert it into whatever it is your working on at the moment. Or perhaps you just might want to read a short something that will put a chuckle, a prayer or a nifty thought into your brain. And perhaps any truth beauty or goodness may leak into your soul making you a more loving, faithful and hopeful person and draw you closer to Christ.
In this post were Tweeting to the Choir about…
Pro-Life and Social Justice Issues
Sherry Antonetti@sherryantonetti: Pro-life is always love for the others, Pro-life is sacrificial. Catholicism is always a call to embrace the cross of service, of sacrifice, of loving others –from conception to natural death, and all the moments, every moment in between. Love is faith in action.
Fr. Casey, OFM@caseyofm: A reminder that you can care about more than one thing at once and don’t need to wait for one colossal task to be completed before you start another.
We can stand against abortion
AND
Care about babies and families *at the same time.*
Matt Fradd@mattfradd: Those atheists who will #MarchForLife will demonstrate themselves to be freethinkers and courageous. Willing to follow the science where it leads even when it clashes with secular dogma.
Fr. Matthew Schneider@FrMatthewLC: To all those replying to me claiming that I don’t care about women’s lives because I care about unborn lives too, I want to make an offer reaching across the aisle: will you all fight beside me to ban sex-selective abortions?
Politics and Being Pro-Lifers
JoAnna@cathworkingmom: Preventing a person from killing a vulnerable and defenseless human being isn’t a human rights violation.
Deliberately killing a vulnerable and defenseless human being is a human rights violation.
Hell no. I didn’t vote for Hillary or Biden or Trump. They are all awful.
Jose Rodriguez @WeirdEducator: I am against abortion.
I am pro-life: womb to tomb.
This is a public service announcement for all of the MAGA-Catholic trolls who assume Catholics who voted for Biden are pro-Choice.
Carry on, #CatholicTwitter.
#consistentlifeethic
Be Fully Pro-Life
Alessandra Harris@AlessandraH17: I wonder how many Catholics who just marched for the lives of the unborn care about the murder of 22 year old Amir Locke who was sleeping before police stormed in and shot him dead in less than 10 seconds. Amir deserves to be alive right now. This is a pro life issue.
I think what a lot of Catholics get wrong about abortion is that it is a “belief” about when life begins. The majority of women I know who had abortions did so even though they personally felt it was wrong but also believed it was their only option.
Rondell Treviño@Rondell_Trevino:
Are you pro-life? Then get vaccinated.
Do you want to love your neighbor? Then get vaccinated.
Do you love America and want it to be great? Then get vaccinated.
Do you care about social justice for Black Lives, Latinos, Immigrants, Asians, and the poor? Then get vaccinated.
