(inspired by my March 2023 Heart Magick newsletter)
The astrological year begins anew with Aries. Fiery and action-oriented, this is like the actual start of 2023 to me.
Maybe you’ve spent the last few months feeling like you couldn’t get started with things you wanted to start. Or maybe you felt a little swimmy and were unable to get clear about the next right steps for you.
That’s okay. You can always start now.
Or tomorrow. Or whenever.
Starting again is available at any time.

The Truth about Starting
Maybe you needed to wait until now because you needed a certain experience or a certain insight or a certain set of conditions.
Maybe you needed to wait a bit because you weren’t ready emotionally, physically, or spiritually. (That’s 100% okay.)
You don’t need to get down on yourself for not being where you imagined yourself to be.
You’re right where you need to be.
Right now.
So, if there are things you want to change, find small ways, small steps, easily digestible bites to bring into each day.
Sometimes slowing down is the best way to get moving.
Sometimes you can’t start until you realize where you already are.
Writing Prompts for Reflection
I find journalling to be helpful when I don’t know what to do with all the feelings and experiences. Sometimes this means I write things down and sometimes this means I go for a walk and answer the questions in my head. I just need to start thinking in order to find out what I’m thinking.
What I care about.
What I need to care about.
Either way, I reflect.
What needs your attention?
What needs your energy?
Where can you take a small step?
What have you learned in the last few months that you need to know right now?
Thinking about where you are and where you’ve been helps create perspective. It helps to cultivate awareness. And when you’re aware of what it, you can move into what’s next.
Or, at least recognize how far you’ve come.
Do this for you. Not for the race that is capitalism. Reflect because it allows you to measure yourself against yourself. To really see yourself, validate your worth, and understand how great you are — even if it’s not noticeable by anyone else.
Start this one-person cheering squad now.
Start again.
Start when it feels like the thing to do.
Start because every day is a new start. Every minute is a new start.
Tap into the magick of knowing the power of claiming that new start.
You’re doing great, sweetie (or whatever moniker feels good).
