short and sweet magick for the new year

short and sweet magick for the new year December 29, 2023

Magick doesn’t have to be complicated. (You probably know that already.)

When the first of the calendar year, I forget a little.

I want to do something HUGE because I want big changes and big steps in new directions.

I want the things I don’t already have, and I seem to think my magick needs to be huge-er than huge to do it ‘right’ this time.

Not this year.

(Fingers crossed.)

What I Will (Not) Do

I want fewer details and more feeling.

I don’t need to know the entire plan (well, I would REALLY like to know, honestly, but I’m growing here, okay?)

Here is my process for 2024 and hopefully from now on…

  • How do I want to feel?
  • When have I felt like that before?
  • What can I do to feel like that more?
  • What help do I need?
  • What deity can I ask to support me? (I mean, it’s always Aphrodite, but for the sake of this blog…)
  • What is getting in the way of feeling this way?
  • What might tarot cards or runes or another divination tool reveal about this?

It’s simple, right? Or is it?

I don’t have the best sense of how I feel sometimes, but I do know how I WANT to feel.

So let this be a year of calling in what I want my heart and bones to feel:

  • Inspired
  • Free
  • Passionate
  • Open
  • Sensuous
  • Connected
  • Abundant

I will sit with these words and ask them what they look like. I will remember how they have arrived in my life already, how they have showed up, and how I can ask for them to show up in the coming year.

I will be willing to dare.

I will believe in my worthiness.

I will honor my boundaries.

I will speak for my needs and wants and all that is before, between, and after.

This is magick too.

May 2024 bless you!
