HOUSTON, TX – Joel Osteen, Pastor of the Houston, Texas mega church, Lakewood Church, publicly declared his endorsement of Presidential Candidate, Donald Trump earlier today. The announcement came in the form of a tweet, “Today, I want you to smile and do good for yourselves. Vote to make American happy again #donaldtrump.”
When later questioned during a public book signing on the endorsement, Pastor Osteen explained, “when I found out his speech writer also wrote my sermons it was an easy decision. To not vote for him would be like voting against myself, and that’s way too negative for me to even consider.”
The endorsement is expected to provide a boost in the evangelical vote for Trump’s campaign. This is an area where Trump has struggled as most Christians recognize Trump to be completely unfit for the presidency.
