It looks as though the film of Lincon’s life, to be directed by Steven Spielberg, might be the victim of financial woes at Dreamworks. Liam Neeson was lined up to play the 16th President. Hopes were to begin filming soon to have the picture out before the end of this year (the 200th year since his birth). Now it looks as though it might not get made at all. Sad.
Alright, I say to President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, while you’re spending nearly $1 trillion on lots of pork and pet projects, why not have a bail-out for Lincoln? It will help the economy in the long term about as much as most of the stimulus package. You can even cap Spielberg’s salary while it’s being made (make it a low one as public vengence for the last Indiana Jones film).
