A researcher at the University of Virginia has made a map representing every single person in America as a dot, color-coded along racial lines. The results are fascinating, as Slate‘s illuminating breakdown helps to show. We probably shouldn’t be surprised by the racial segregation of our cities and neighborhoods, but the stark color contrast on these maps shows all too plainly how well-defined those boundaries are.
