A Theology of Consumption: “…we do not need more statements about sex and violence. Instead, kids desperately need a theology of consumption. Our children need to understand the power and pull of toys and why they like to shop. Perhaps shopping reflects a God-given desire for beauty, Maybe our constant interest in newer, improved products suggests something deep about our hunger for new life. Kids need to learn about the real magic of advertising, our ability to impart value on seemingly inanimate objects.”
