The “Jesus Test”

The “Jesus Test” October 18, 2013

Not all Christians are a-holes, and not all a-holes are Christians. But lots of folks, Christian or not, could stand to benefit from a little bit of Christ-like wisdom in their lives. Not sure if you’re one of those who could use a little de-a-hole-ification? Take this quick survey to find out!

Oh, and if you already identify as a Christian, and you want to make sure you’re not one of “Those Christians,” CLICK HERE to take a quick “Those Christians” test as well.

You might need Jesus to help you become less of an a-hole if . . .

  1. You know you are an a-hole, but you don’t know what to do about it.

  2. You’d like being an a-hole not to cost you any more relationships.

  3. Your parents did a-hole things to you, and you’d prefer not to pass those things on to your children.

  4. You’re fed up with other people’s moral superiority, but you still want to become a better person.

  5. You tried Christianity, it didn’t work for you, and now you’re pissed.

  6. You believe that you’re not the center of the universe, but you still act like you are sometimes.

  7. You find yourself judging people for being judgmental.

  8. You know the world is messed up, but you feel hopeless to do anything about it.

  9. You want to love, but fear keeps getting in the way.

  10. You are a living, breathing member of the human race.

Here’s a little help if you’re still not sure about the results of our quiz: If you didn’t answer “yes” to at least one of the above, take it again. The good news is, you’re in good company. We all are a-holes at one time or another. We’re not perfect; we’d all score “needs improvement” on life’s scorecard.

Unfortunately the things Jesus has to teach aren’t a one-and-done kind of deal. There’ no magic anti-a-hole potion. You’ll still screw it up. A lot. We all do. But we’ve each got a lifetime to try and get it right. The least we can do – for ourselves and one another – is give it an honest effort.
