If you haven’t already read from my post yesterday, I’m doing an experiment over the next 18 months to try and figure out what it is we really mean when we talk about “following Jesus.” Does he want us to be just like him? Does he want everyone to walk away from their families, jobs and give everything to the poor? Are we just supposed to listen to our hearts and try to be better people, whatever that means?
You can help me sort this out. For the first six months, I’m making a plan for the yearlong attempt to follow Jesus. While I’m sorting out who this “Jesus” guy is we keep talking about, I need you to give me your ideas.
There are two questions that follow about things I SHOULD DO and things I SHOULDN’T do during my year. you can add up to three suggestions, but you don’t have to fill in all three. If you CAN’T access the survey to submit responses (seems to require a login), please post them in the comments section below.
From there, I’ll create a list based on common themes, and we might even do another survey to see which ones readers are most interested in. From there, I’ll create some categories, like: Things I’m going to do/not going to do the whole time; things I will/won’t do at least part of the time; and things I will/won’t do at all, even if I think they’re legitimately Christ-like calls.
So get those creative juices flowing, crack open the Gospels if you haven’t checked them out in a while and help me figure out this whole Jesus Project thing. You can take the survey embedded below. If you can’t see it CLICK HERE to take it on a remote page.
