This story is making the rounds. I’m no expert, but if anything could mortally wound Trump’s presidency, it would be something like this. As of now, the allegations are unproven. The accuracy of the charges will determine the outcome. Nothing until the next scandal that comes out tomorrow? President Pence? President Clinton redux? We’ll see. Read more
Jonah Goldberg is spot on. I opposed Wikileaks from the beginning. I still do. I’m appalled that Russia tried to mess up our elections. That’s up to us Americans to do. I can’t help but notice, however, that half of everyone cheering Wikileaks now were cursing it a half dozen years ago. Likewise, half of everyone cursing Assange and illegally exposed documents now were cheering the same a half dozen years ago. And oddly enough, there’s nothing really different except who... Eh. Sometimes I imagine a world where my president elect doesn’t stoop to the level of a kindergartner. Then I remember, oh yeah. This is the U.S. in the 21st century. We’ve worked long and hard to get to this level of maturity. As for his response, if it was anyone else, I’d be shocked that he would resort to a childish dig at Ms. Streep’s acting abilities. Then I’m reminded Trump. I mean, President Trump. As for the rest,... Read more
Go Clemson! I don’t hate Alabama, I just grow tired of seeing them win. It’s not like the Evil Empire of Football, the New England Patriots. And I’m OK with Nick Saban tying Bear Bryant’s record. Nonetheless, I would like Clemson to take down Alabama. Clemson taught OSU a much needed lesson. Now if they could help ‘Bama with a piece of humble pie? Go Tigers! Read more
Uncovered by The Onion. As a non-believer, I could never figure out the obsession so many non-believers had with mocking religious people. Most religious people I knew were no worse than the non-religious people I knew. Neither dumber nor meaner. I found both camps capable of providing candidates for those tendencies. On the other hand, I couldn’t help but notice that when it came to organized aid in times of need, those religious types seemed a tad ahead of... Read more
And yet, sometimes they must. So one of the most beautiful love stories in recent memory comes to an end. The press must say goodbye to the love of its life: President and Michelle Obama. The gushing love and admiration, credit for all that is good and virtually nothing but a few missteps and minor flubs being attributed to President Obama. Like all romances, they had their tough times. When Obama told them not to get their news from FOX,... Read more
Apparently Mexico isn’t going to pay for a border wall, at least according to former Mexican President Vicente Fox. And he’s not alone. In fact, you could be forgiven for thinking that us taxpayers might end up paying for the wall. Which is different from the promise that we’ll build a wall, US taxpayers won’t pay, and Mexico will. Of course it was a stupid promise. I’ve been wrong about Trump before, but I find it absurd to think we could... Read more
On the other hand, we have this strange tirade, accompanied by lame explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9P3uJNURWk What did I just say about celebrity goofiness? I have no clue who she is other than a former Apprentice contestant no given an office in the administration. But even so, the statements she makes. I thought of the Emperor on Star Wars. This is America. We’re not the thralls of the Supreme Leader. The trick to dealing with stereotypes is not living up to them.... Read more
