3. America’s War on Sex: The Continuing Attack on Law, Lust, and Liberty, 2nd Edition (Sex, Love, and Psychology) by Marty Klein, Ph.D.

If, like me, you’re pissed off about the arbitrary laws governing sexuality in the U.S. – the crap that is federally-funded abstinence-only sex ed, for example – this book explains why these sex-negative systems remain in place. I dig this book because Klein balances rigorous research with intelligent and incisive commentary about just how hypocritical and prejudiced the people enforcing their sex-negative viewpoints on the country are. What you’ll get out of this book are bunches of fantastic arguments and facts to whip out anytime you’re debating someone who still clings to the belief that porn use is evil or adults shouldn’t be allowed to express their sexuality however they wish in private, consensual contexts.
