NBC News keeps talking to Muslim doctor accused of kidnapping journalists as ‘expert’ on the Syrian chemical attack

The media continues to do their job as the propaganda wing of the socialist left.  But doing so in the middle of an international crisis, such as the sarin gas attack perpetrated against innocent children and other civilians this week, brings it to a new low.

NBC News, and other international media, keeps turning to a Muslim doctor from Britain for his “expert” commentary on the aftermath of the attacks despite the fact that he had his medical license revoked after he stood accused of “participating in a terrorist kidnapping ring targeting Western journalists,” as PJ Media writes.

Shajul Islam has been a featured guest in the days since the Tuesday attack on NBC News Nightly News, Al-Jazeera, and the CBC in Canada.

PJ Media reports:

Shajul Islam and his brother were arrested in November 2012, accused of being part of a British kidnapping cell that operated on the Turkish-Syrian border where many Western journalists would cross.

British journalist John Cantlie was to be the main witness against Islam during the pretrial hearing. However, Cantlie was then kidnapped a second time. Cantlie is still being held captive by the Islamic State.

Because Cantlie wasn’t available to testify at the trial, the kidnapping charges were dropped against Islam.

In addition to Cantlie, Jeroen Oerlemans was also kidnapped by the brothers but later released. He later was killed while covering the Libyan conflict. It is also alleged that American journalist James Foley, who was beheaded by ISIS, was kidnapped by the same British jihadi kidnapping ring.

But these facts haven’t disqualified Islam the title of “expert opinion” in the eyes of Western media. He is using the sudden attention to raise money to aid the victims, or so he says.

“In his videos, he seems more concerned about propaganda and his fundraising than in treating the chemical weapons victims,” PJ Media notes.

I’m glad the Trump administration has taken our national press to task and is holding them accountable in doing their jobs, because it’s actions like this that continue to kill trust among Americans. It’s sad when journalists in the Middle East are more aware of who NBC is interviewing than NBC is:
