The Black LIES Matter movement needs to be shut down in America and Walmart just took one step forward to making that a reality.
Third-party sellers have flocked to the retail giant’s website to sell their wares to the public. One item caught the eye of the president of the national Fraternal Order of Police who brought it to Walmart’s attention. It was a Black Lives Matter T-shirt with the word “bulletproof” printed on it. FOP President Chuck Canterbury wrote to Walmart CEO C. Douglas McMillon on Tuesday to politely ask them to reconsider hosting the sale of this shirt. He wrote:
“I understand that these are third party sales and not Walmart products, but I am concerned that allowing these articles to be sold in this way will damage your company’s good name amongst FOP members and other active and retired law enforcement officers.”
As The Washington Post notes, Old Glory Merchandise is the company that is responsible for selling the Black Lives Matter articles. They also sell apparel printed with Blue Lives Matter. But after considering the FOP’s request, Walmart pulled the “bulletproof” T-shirt from its site the same day.
“Like other online retailers, we have a marketplace with millions of items offered by third parties that includes Blue Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter merchandise. After hearing concerns from customers, we are removing the specific item with the ‘bulletproof’ reference,” Walmart said in a statement.
The Washington director of the police union, Jim Pasco, said members were growing concerned that Walmart was selling anti-police items and felt it necessary for the FOP to bring it to the company’s attention.
I think this is a good thing. Anytime purveyors of the lie that is Black Lives Matter, especially using incendiary language like “bulletproof,” get shut down, I applaud. Plus, I think it’s good that Walmart responded so quickly and didn’t beat around the bush to get something done. It shows they hold a lot of respect for police officers while still allowing retailers access to their website. It’s a win-win.
