Sexual Stimulants

Travelling a few days ago, I stopped at a truck stop at which I’d stopped several times over the last few years but not for a couple years, and found in the men’s room a new condom dispenser by the door. It had been blessedly free of such a thing in the past. The offerings were advertised with garish comic book-styled pictures that seemed to me rather adolescent for the product being sold.

Most interesting, though, was the last item, which advertised itself as a “sexual stimulant.” Why would one need it? It’s seems a poor kind of lust that needs to be chemically induced. But then that probably tells us something about lust, that indulged too long it can become, of all things, a duty.
