One of the joys of the Triduum is hearing some of my favorite hymns, performed to perfection by our parish’s spectacular choir.
Here’s one: Christopher Walker’s “Out of Darkness,” done by the Notre Dame Folk Choir a few years ago, complete with horns and timpani. This was our communion hymn last night and at all the Masses today.
Out of darkness God has called us,
Claimed by Christ as God’s own people.
Holy nation, royal priesthood,
Walking in God’s marv’lous light.
