How the Siege of Grand Mosque in Mecca gave birth to Al Qaeda

A very insightful perspective of how the siege on 20th Novermber 1979, may have contributed to the birth of Al Qaeda as we know it now.  The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan was the event that nurtured the Wahabism that was born out of this siege, where the Grand Mosque of Mecca was taken over by Islamic radicals
