To purchase the entire DVD set of the Summit Lecture Series, visit summit.org. Abu Bakr was the first successor of Islam after Muhammad and he was the first one who ordered the Qur’an to be collected. After they collected it, they discovered that a verse was missing. In other words, the first written Qur’an was incomplete. And this is just one example of portions missing from even the earliest forms of the Qur’an. But this isn’t my opinion. This comes from... Read more

I was in Anderson, IN in November. I was in my hotel room when I heard a knock on the door. “You have to come downstairs. Quickly, or you’ll die!” panted the woman at my door, whom I learned later was the hotel manager. It was the “you’ll die” part that I found intriguing. “What’s the matter?” “Well, sir… we’re having our regular tornado.” So, I followed her downstairs, where she had gathered all us guests and we all... Read more

Being falsely accused of something that you know is simply not true is so hard to endure, isn’t it?  We want to convince our accusers that we are not the people they say we are.  We want to defend ourselves.  We want to be validated by those who love us, to offset the ugly words thrown at us. After being unjustly blamed for something that I am not even capable of doing, I was blindsided by an open attack... Read more

A youth leader stood before a group of teens and quoted Romans 5:8, “but God shows His love for you in that while you were messed up Christ died for you!” Now you’re going to read in the bible “That while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Why change the wording. The youth pastor would say, “Well Sin is such an archaic word. Who knows what it means anyway? Let’s just put it in words the students can... Read more

Last week, when talking about Jesus watching Satan fall from heaven, we were encouraged by the fact that Satan is a defeated foe. As you will be reminded in this week’s PODCAST, Satan isn’t losing the war; he has already lost it. Be that as it may, however, the devil is winning his share of battles, and the destruction he causes is painful in the extreme. Of all of the names of Satan I shared with you last week, of... Read more

We have a balance we have to keep straight in our heads because if we’re honest we’re all working toward a goal of earning money in some kind of way. It’s just the nature of the beast, we’re trying to put food on the table and provide for our families. James has an interesting word for us in James 1:9-11 that gives us an understanding of how we are to look at gaining money. He says “Let the lowly brother... Read more

Over the last couple days we’ve been looking at Romans 7:13-25 from a couple different perspectives. First we looked at it from a Pre-Christian experience. Then we looked at it from a Christian experience. Today we’re going to look at a third option. Romans 7:13-25 New International Version (NIV) Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! Nevertheless, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it used what is good to bring about... Read more

You and I are embroiled in a cosmic collision of good and evil, a spiritual war that is taking place in real time, in the present tense, on a scale of epic proportions. As you are about to hear in this PODCAST, there can be no doubt in any thinking person’s mind that this war is real, and that it has a profound affect upon our world and our lives.
