Lisa reports back from Panama how the Lord raised a woman from the dead. Really !!! Here’s her story: We arrived in Panama City really late at night, and three-and-a-half hours into our bus ride, we stopped to get some food.  As I was walking, to my right, I saw this woman with very dark skin, sunken eyes, funky teeth, and tussled hair.  Now, I had been to many places before, but never to Panama, and this woman scared... Read more

We have been discussing how divorce effects children differently, depending on their ages.  It’s so important to be aware of this when a family is experiencing divorce, in order to help your child cope in ways that are most beneficial to them in their age group.  Today we will discuss how divorce impacts teens, ages 13-18 years of age. Welcome to the Big Picture Podcast. I’m Joel Fieri and this podcast seeks to begin and hopefully sustain a conversation about current trends, ideas and issues in the Church and greater society. On today’s podcast I think it’s time to check in and hang out with the “Late Boomer” as he continues to mop up the societal mess that is the legacy of his generation, the Baby Boomers. No presentation by a Boomer would be complete without a list.... Read more

1 Samuel 7:1-2 So the men of Kiriath-jearim came to get the Ark of the Lord. They took it to the hillside home of Abinadab and ordained Eleazar, his son, to be in charge of it. 2 The Ark remained in Kiriath-jearim for a long time—twenty years in all. During that time all Israel mourned because it seemed the Lord had abandoned them. This process of Israel mourning began all the way back in chapter four, when they were relying on gimmicks and trickery... Read more

From newser.com: A Massachusetts town has decided it’s time to finally lift a ban on arcade games it established when Ms. Pac-Man was new. At a town meeting, the residents of Marshfield voted 203-175 to lift the ban that was introduced in 1982. What bans will they lift next?  Discotheques?  Speakeasies?  Blacksmith shops? The ban was voted in by residents who feared arcade games would bring an undesirable element to the small town and upheld in 1994 and 2011.... Read more

In addition to being one of the funniest comics going today, Keith is also an educated man – a Vanderbilt graduate, nonetheless.  In fact, while at Vanderbilt he was the Erin Andrews of his time, working as a sideline reporter during Vandy football games (not an easy gig for an “academic” school in the SEC) As a comic, Keith has appeared on the David Letterman show not once, but twice!  Which brings, between the two of us the number... Read more

Suzanne Lederer leads us in connecting with God through Lectio Divina, or “Sacred Reading”. Philippians 2:5-8 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8     he humbled himself in obedience to God and... Read more

Alan recounts his story of the time he spent in India: It was the second day out and we went into a village.  At about 8:30 in the morning, we went to a house and met with a couple fellows for a little over two hours.  They had so many questions about Jesus and what it means to be a Christ-follower.  After some time, though, they prayed and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Meanwhile, there was one... Read more

Luke 7:18-19 18 The disciples of John the Baptist told John about everything Jesus was doing. So John called for two of his disciples, 19 and he sent them to the Lord to ask him, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?” John the Baptizer is, by his own admission, was a walking contradiction. As you will hear in this PODCAST, he had a remarkable beginning, and yet a dismal crash and burn. In a word,... Read more

What about your calling? Are you frustrated and feel as if God isn’t using you the way you think He should be?  Is it not happening fast enough?  Do you watch other ministries and find yourself envying their positions and wish you could be them? I always thought that because God had called me to write and teach that I needed a growing audience to validate that calling.   I was so driven to find myself a platform or audience... Read more
