Perseverence Is All That Matters

Perseverence Is All That Matters January 2, 2018

This morning I woke up too early with a lot on my mind. How it is that some Christians can support certain political standpoints? Why do they feel the same way about me? So I opened my Bible for answers.

It was Matthew 13, The Parable of the Sower. I’ve heard this parable a million times but this morning there was new insight. My takeaway is, God only judges us by our perseverance.

If we where created to worship and sin entering the world made us imperfect, than all we can offer God is perseverance in looking for Him (Old Testament), and then towards Him (New Testament). Christ, Who’s an image of perfect perseverance, is saying here in Matthew 13, “There are 3 kinds of people in the world; those who haven’t persevered, those who lose perseverance, and those who persevere.”

So I think it’s fitting we go into 2018 today with this is mind. I’m still standing by my political beliefs that are closely tied between me and the Holy Spirit, with the continual hope that you’ll soon agree. But what I want more is for you to persevere. That is what we MUST judge and encourage each other on regardless of our differences. It’s all that matters if you’re a Christian.

Persevere.
Love through hate.
Worship through pain.
Bring on 2018.
