A blog wouldn’t be a blog without a post about what on earth this blogger is thankful for on the eve of Thanksgiving.
1. People. No, not the magazine. I’m so thankful this year for how I’ve seen downright goodness in people as so many folks have rallied around us to get our roof built, cook us meals, buy us diapers and other extraordinary acts of kindness. In stock right now, I have 160 #1 diapers, 98 #2’s & a big box of #3’s. This means, I won’t be buying diapers for at least another 4-5 months. Now that’s hot.
2. This may go without saying, but… a new roof. After having a leaky roof for over a year & wondering when it’s going to cave in on your head, I have to say it’s pretty darn awesome to not have to worry, worry, worry about your house and spending upwards of $9,000. It’s DONE. Praise the Lord.
3. Jeez, my list is like so obvious this year but of course I’m so thankful for my NEW baby boy. Even though I feel deliriously tired, sick of being the milk maid & am now the not-so-proud owner of a ripply, stretch-mark filled belly, I LOVE taking care of Rhys every day.
I love his cute little smiles, his smell, the look on his face when he wakes up, how he puckers his lips when he’s happy, his hair, the grunts he makes when he’s hungry, & the look on his face when he’s ready to fart. He literally can do no wrong. For now. The terrible two’s will be here soon enough! For now though I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him…
4. Some things you just never get sick of thanking God for… my hubby, Dave is a super cool cat ~ I’m glad he’s mine. I have a pretty awesome circle of lady friends that I am extremely thankful for this year. Shout out to Sara, P, J, J, J & J. Yes, all those “J’s” are 4 of my good friends. 🙂
5. Finally, I’m thanking God this Thanksgiving for just good health in general. It’s so much more real this year with the H1N1 scare knowing my little Reeserton is very much at risk to this particular strain of flu. I’m thankful Dave, Ran & I were able to get the vaccination.
Honorable Mention: It’s a BIG surprise! I can’t say just yet but there is something that I am soooooo thankful for & excited about that I can’t share right now. (I will eventually not to worry. :))
So, what’s got you smiling, feeling happy or jumping for joy this Thanksgiving? (And who cares if it’s obvious) 🙂
