Cry, Shrew, CRY!

Cry, Shrew, CRY! January 5, 2012

Yesterday, I did it, y’all.  I worked out for a solid 20 minutes for the 1st time in 17 years.  At least, it felt that way.  After I finished, I felt like this…

I had…

…conquered the world!

…been elected President!

…lost 15 pounds!

4 weeks?!?!  Bite me!  I noticed right away! Seriously.  I was feeling so great I got out a pair of last years jeans and SQUOZE myself into them!  And, well, they didn’t fit, but hey it’s the motivation that counts! =)

CRY, SHREW, CRY!

If you need a little get-healthy-AND-have-the-body-you-love inspiration please read the post about this girl’s fantastic transformation…

The post Your dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat determination and hard work is over at crossfitchick.com.  It’s well worth the read.  She’s a normal girl who underwent dramatic weight loss —size 16 to a size 2—- by working hard for 365 days.

She inspired me.  So.  I’m headed out to work out again today!

And while we’re talking about body image, please enjoy this quote from one of my fave audiobooks of 2011, Bossypants by Tina Fey.

On Beyonce & Jennifer Lopez’s curvy physiques…

“{Because of Beyonce & Jennifer Lopez}  women embraced their diversity and realized that all shapes and sizes are beautiful. Ah ha ha. No. I’m totally messing with you. All Beyonce and JLo have done is add to the laundry list of attributes women must have to qualify as beautiful. Now every girl is expected to have Caucasian blue eyes, full Spanish lips, a classic button nose, hairless Asian skin with a California tan, a Jamaican dance hall ass, long Swedish legs, small Japanese feet, the abs of a lesbian gym owner, the hips of a nine-year-old boy, the arms of Michelle Obama, and doll tits. The person closest to actually achieving this look is Kim Kardashian, who, as we know, was made by Russian scientists to sabotage our athletes.” -Tina Fey.

(HA! Tina Fey makes me laugh hard)

Acknowledge the pressure, push to be healthy & most of all, enjoy your bodies ladies, it’s the only one you’ve got!

Who else is working out??? Any 2012 success stories to share?? I’d LOVE to hear how your doing!
