Relate to this much?
One of my besties, Jessica sent me a beautiful hand-made birthday card –yes, in the mail– that arrived on my birthday, which means she planned ahead, yo!
(I was so inspired I even went out onto the cold sun porch to photograph it).
Check out the awesome birthday poem she wrote JUST FOR ME: =)
Spirit-filled passion it burns red-hot
would you expect any other color?
From Gracee? I think not!
Detroit-born, she’s got swagger
her gifts & abilities as a wife, mom, writer,
fashionista & minister make anyone stagger.
Most amazing of all is that grace that abides within
from Jesus who’s protected you through darkness & sin
whether together in silence & prayer or on
adventures like Sydney Bristow
I’m thankful for your friendship
that began at RSTI 10 years ago.
Love, Jessica
Seriously, the girl’s got talent. She got the words swagger, stagger, darkness, sin & Sydney Bristow in a birthday poem!
The card was in celebration of my birthday.. A few days ago, on December 30th I turned 35.
35! Half-way to 70! My birthday arrived just in the nick’o’time to join in on my female mid-life crisis!
Better late than never!
(Just kidding. Pardon my sarcasm. I know with God’s help, I’ll get through it).
ANYWAY, I felt so special between the card, the texts, a few calls, a gajillion facebook wall posts & a dinner out with a herd of friends. What a great reminder of what really is most valuable in life…people to do it with you.
