Im Radiant with a Purpose

{Don’t forget January is Human Trafficking Awareness month.  Just a few days ago I talked about how I have 17 slaves working for me.  Sigh.  Today, another encouraging group seeks to do the extraordinary through cosmetic shopping}

Can we kiss slavery goodbye through something so ordinary as lipstick?

Well, it seems, in part!

What I appreciate about Radiant is that they are physically involved through outreach, aftercare efforts much like the TOMS model.

In January, with every lipstick purchase, Radiant will donate a lipstick to a survivor or current victim of human trafficking as well as donate 20% of profits to anti-trafficking organizations on the front lines.

I was given their Matte Red Lipstick in Moscow to show off my kissable lips.

Thoughts on the lipstick:

Love the metal black case, everything about the packaging & lipstick screams quality.

The matte is perfect, I mean perfect.  Not smelly, not hard to get on, not too smushy or slimy.  This is quality stuff here.  It lasted for more than half the day and two meals.

Also, I ADORE the deep red shade of Moscow.  I have quite the affinity towards red in general but I also think this particular color suits me and gives a nice little pop to my red pea coat.

Lipstick is such an ordinary thing, but when your making your next ordinary cosmetic purchase think of this:

The worldwide cosmetics and perfume industry currently generates $170 billion annually. Women dominate the cosmetics industry. Currently, of the over 2 million human beings trafficked annually, 80% are women and girls.  Radiant believes in educating women and empowering them to do something about this injustice through their ordinary lives.

That’s something I can get behind, fa sho! I hope you will too.  We can be radiant with a purpose.
