The Outtakes

Every year Dave & I make a prayer card that we send in our year-end newsletter to all of our supporting families and Churches in our work with InterVarsity.  For example, this was last years…

My Mother’N’Law, Sara took this pic in front of Fenton Lake in the backyard of Dave’s late Grandma H.

We haven’t yet picked & made the pic for this year but I thought it’d be fun to show you the outtakes before you get to see the final product.

My oh my, it was such a task just getting the 4 of us ready to go, not to mention trying to coordinate outfits, get mine & Ransoms hair done & nurse Rhys at just the right time so he’d be either awake & happy or asleep.  By the way, he chose the latter.

It’s not my favorite hairstyle, or my favorite sweater, or even our best pics together but it will have to do this year.  It was more complicated than I thought to hold a sleepy newborn with no head control.

I was also realizing we have reached the age of fake smiles with Ransom.  Ahh, I remember the good old days when all you had to say was “goochie, goochie, goo” & he’d light up the room with a big, beautiful smile.
