Now that I have two kiddo’s it’s amazing to me how hard it is to even think about what to do next with my hair.  Yep, you read that right: think, not do.  Doing, is a whole other ball game. A game unfortunately where I am not up to bat.  I will not be getting in the game. Before I left for my regional team meetings I had so.so.so.much.to.do.  I had no brain space left to deal with my hair... Read more

It’s time. It’s time to leave my baby boy for 3 days & 2 nights. ;( I will miss both my sweet little munchkins, but there is something more difficult about leaving a cute, chubby, nursing 4 month old. Obviously, I’m feeling better since I’m heading off to a work conference. It’s also time to: GO CRAZY! I am supposed to (key word: supposed) -before tonight- finish reading a book our team will discuss, read 8 applications (were doing interviews),... Read more

Oh, man I have been out of it since 3, 4am last Thursday night.  I woke up freezing my tush off to what I thought was a broken heater, but what ended up being a bad case of Mastitis (a breastfeeding infection) accompanied by a 103 fever, chills, aches, shakes, headache & engorgement. I had been very achy for at least 3 days since last Tuesday, but here I thought I was doing such a good job working out lately! :)... Read more

Nothing worth having comes easily now does it? The latest saga of weaning Rhys continues with much progress, but unfortunately a lot less sleep. Three weeks ago, he was co-sleeping, eating 8-10 times a night & needing a pacifier every 10-20 minutes all night to fall back asleep. Two weeks ago, we managed to cut him back to eating twice a night, napping on a schedule and no longer using the pacifier to get back to sleep. This past week,... Read more

Wow, a night away.  Dave & I are packing up for our 1st night away from both kids.  My gracious mother & father’n’law are keeping both kiddo’s until tomorrow afternoon. We are heading off to celebrate a birthday party of one of my best buds. You know what’s crazy? I’m not just excited about getting to go out, or having adult time, or being alone with my hubby as much as I am about one thing:  wearing a cute outfit... Read more

The other day, I managed to be unthankful about one of the most exciting things happening right now.  There is something I have to say today or I am going to explode… If you read my sobfest blog post, Oh my, Oh my, Oh my three days ago you know I’ve been sporting a piss poor attitude.  I managed to be unthankful about one of the most exciting things happening right now.  Oh, bloggers, I apologize.  I’m tired.  No excuses,... Read more

Here’s my monthly cool links to other cool stuff blog.  Didn’t notice I was doing this monthly?  Oh, because I’m not, I’ve only done it one other time but it was a hit.  So, here it is, the best of the web in Jan. 2010: ~An article my white friend and colleague wrote about white privilege over on her blog, Sidewalk Theologian, after I posted this picture of Alicia Keys as my celeb look-alike, with the following phrase: “alicia keys, my... Read more

Expectations are everything, aren’t they? After my friends Jodi & Cristina both gave this movie a shrug and an “eh,” I wasn’t as excited about.  They both agreed, “it was just oooo-kay.” And, of course, guess what?  I saw it, liked it and loved it! The movie is about two women whose lives connect in an odd way.  Meryl Streep plays an American who gets famous after living in France, learning to cook French food and writing a cook book. ... Read more

I loved it.  Favorite movie watching experience of 2010!  Okay, fine so were only 27 days in, but get this: when the movie was over, I smiled, popped it in again, and started over.  That’s the sign of a movie I love: the immediate desire to watch the whole thing in it’s entirety, again. I love how smart it is.  I love it’s witty-ness.  I love the way they developed the two stars characters.  I love the one-liners, I love... Read more
