How excited am I about David Kuo's tell-all book exposing the
hypocrisy, manipulation, and possibly even corruption of the White
House's faith-based initiative? This is worse than waiting for
Christmas morning, worse than my impatience for the season premiere of
"Veronica Mars" (and that's saying something).

Kuo served as deputy director of the White House's Office of
Faith-Based and Community Initiatives during Bush's first
administration. He was a true believer who was quickly disillusioned by
the way the White House treated his office as a campaign tool.
You can read a few brief excerpts from Kuo's book here.
Ouch. Given what happened to former faith-based director John DiIulio
when he spoke out about the White House's politicization of the
faith-based initiative (he didn't awake to a horse's head in his bed,
but it was close), David's life isn't going to be very easy over the
next few weeks. But he's done us all a favor by telling the tale.
I'm doing my best to get my hands on an advance copy of the book,
but even if I have to wait until next week, you can be sure that I'll
be back here to give you the juicy bits. Can't wait, can't wait, can't
wait.
