Canadian box-office stats — October 1

Here are the figures for the past weekend, arranged from those that owe the highest percentage of their take to the Canadian box office to those that owe the lowest.

The Illusionist — CDN $3,917,924 — N.AM $31,378,443 — 12.5%
The Black Dahlia — CDN $2,253,516 — N.AM $20,742,610 — 10.9%

Open Season — CDN $2,136,948 — N.AM $23,624,548 — 9.0%
Jet Li’s Fearless — CDN $1,621,758 — N.AM $18,066,869 — 9.0%
Jackass: Number Two — CDN $4,606,687 — N.AM $52,070,722 — 8.8%

School for Scoundrels — CDN $715,147 — N.AM $8,602,333 — 8.3%
Flyboys — CDN $805,103 — N.AM $9,946,969 — 8.1%
Gridiron Gang — CDN $2,517,859 — N.AM $33,258,307 — 7.6%
The Guardian — CDN $1,297,019 — N.AM $18,006,064 — 7.2%

A couple of discrepancies: The Canadian figure for Open Season combines the regular release ($1,920,468), which came in at #1, with the IMAX release ($216,480), which came in at #9 — so I do not know what film would have been #10 in Canada if those figures had been combined. I believe the American figure for Open Season has already combined the regular and IMAX revenues. Little Miss Sunshine was #10 on the North American chart.
