My friend and colleague Steven D. Greydanus, of Decent Films fame, very generously offered to let me review Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 in his place for the National Catholic Register. So I did. Steve and I both liked the original film quite a bit — see how he used it in a blog post on ‘Junior Knows Best’ movies that I linked to here — but neither of us are fans of the new film, which loses much of what made the original film so special and throws in some rather dubious elements besides.
