1. We have a new Bible series! Deadline reports that ABC has picked up Of Kings and Prophets, which finished shooting its pilot episode just last week. So we’ll have at least one Bible-themed TV series next year, two if A.D. The Bible Continues gets renewed (and they both feature characters named Saul!). Deadline also reveals that an Israeli actor named Tomer Kapon is playing David’s nephew/general Joab.

2. Deadline also reports that the Fox network may be on the verge of picking up Lucifer, which is based on the Vertigo comic in which Satan, bored with Hell, retires to Los Angeles and spends his time “helping the LAPD punish criminals.”

3. Remember Damien, the proposed sequel to the 1976 film The Omen that was first announced one year ago? It was being developed for the Lifetime network at that time, but now it has moved to parent network A&E. Here is the synopsis:

“Damien” follows the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist. Barbara Hershey stars as Ann Rutledge, the world’s most powerful woman who has been tasked with making sure Damien fulfills his destiny. Omid Abtahi portrays Amani Golkar, a close colleague of Damien’s whose fierce loyalty will be tested when he realizes who his brother-in-arms actually is. Meganlyn Echikunwoke plays Simone Baptiste, a woman whose life is thrown into turmoil when tragedy unexpectedly strikes.

The first season will run ten episodes, and the first episode was directed by Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth: The Golden Age), who is also one of the show’s producers.
