So if you ever write about Delta Spirit again, keep that in mind, they are not only an amazing band– but they are hands down the friendliest band I’ve ever met

Mr. Schaeffer,

I just read your recent article about the Delta Spirit show at the paradise, great read, and you are absolutely right about the band being incredible…..That was an awesome show, one of the best live performances I’ve seen in my life…. And looking at the picture of all you guys back stage, I just realized I was in the room with you all when you took it!…. in total shock that I was back stage with Delta Spirit!

So! I asked to have my guitar signed by the band, the merch guy Aaron sent me upstairs guitar in hand and the drummer noticed me and invited me right in. I won the guitar, A Martin LX1 at Frendly Gathering where I first saw Delta Spirit, and have since been having the awesome musicians I run into in the wide world put their name on it, it’s made for some interesting experiences for sure.

Anyways I thought I would just mention my experience to you, I mean here is a very popular band that just played an intense show, I’m sure there all beat, but they invite me back stage like I’m one of their buddies. So instead of signing the guitar and sending me on my way they ask me if I need anything, or if I want a drink! and I’m just blown away…. and already a little star struck.. So I take a second and I’m like ahhh well I’d love to take you up on the drink and stay a while but I shouldn’t leave my friend downstairs, and with a smile on his face, the guitarist says hey man go grab your friend and come hang out!… So we did… and we talked and joked around and made up a few goofy improv songs… and just had fun….. and that’s the time I had a beer and hung out with Delta Spirit…… One of my favorite bands. It was also my first time at the Paradise…
and a night I’ll never forget.

So if you ever write about Delta Spirit again, keep that in mind, they are not only an amazing band– but they are hands down the friendliest band I’ve ever met…. after staying a while we said our thanks, shook hands and headed out with permanent smiles on our faces.
