Did the Jihadists Target the Lead Singer in Paris Concert Massacre Because He was a Christian? 2015-12-28T18:06:13-05:00

Well, this is horrific:

The Daily Mail – citing information leaked to French newspaper Le Figaro – reports that, while entering the theater where the American band Eagles of Death Metal was performing, the terrorists shouted:

“Where’s the singer? Where are the Yanks?”

The frontman and singer of the band is a man named Jesse Hughes, who was able to escape the theater during the onset of the attacks.

Hughes – who is described as “a committed conservative and devout Christian” – became an ordained minister in 2012.

Grantland describes Hughes as “a staunch right-winger,” who supports Donald Trump, doesn’t believe in evolution, and loves George W. Bush.  Here is a snippet from an interview they conducted with him:

Barack Obama is “non-fucking American-born.” George W. Bush is a hero, because “a dude who does blow and likes ZZ Top is my kind of motherfucker.” The theory of evolution is for fools who believe in “magical talking monkeys.”

Also:

“God has always been and always will be. We can’t transcend that limit,” Hughes says. “I believe when you have a practical acceptance of this, it answers a lot of questions immediately and it really frees up the space for enjoyment.”

It seems the terrorists may have targeted him because of his faith… which should surprise almost no one.
