Terrifying new ISIS report: Homegrown violent extremists across U.S. May 12, 2016

New Jersey’s Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness has released a new report detailing 75 homegrown violent extremists that have been operating from inside the United States. The activity is unprecedented and terror-related arrests are higher now than they’ve been since 9/11.

Included in these cases for 2015 are operatives who have either funded terror plots, planned them, or actually carried them out. In 89% of those cases, the suspects were ISIS sympathizers. The remaining spread support across al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Salafi jihad, and the Nusrah Front.

A large majority of the operatives have been arrested, others are deceased, including the two jihadists responsible for the San Bernardino attacks. A small 4% made it out of the U.S. and are now overseas.

A map in the report shows that attacks were carried out in California, Texas, Kansas, Tennessee, Massachusetts and New York. The states with the highest concentrations of funding terrorism are Southern California, Minnesota, New Jersey and New York.

It’s not happening in every state, but experts say that it’s getting worse and the Obama administration is doing very little about it. According to The Washington Free Beacon:

Congressional attempts to investigate the immigration histories of at least 113 foreign-born individuals snagged on terror charges since 2014 have been stymied by the Obama administration. There remain at least 1,000 open investigations into ISIS members residing in the United States.

Not to mention the fact that the president has vowed to bring as many Syrian “refugees” as possible into the country. As Trey Sanchez noted at TruthRevolt, the original estimate was 10,000, but there are estimates that indicate closer to 100,000 and even more.

That is pure recklessness, seeing as ISIS members have embedded themselves into the migrant population and are gaining easy access to countries where they are planning to carry out attacks. The Daily Beast seemed shocked to find out this reality when reporting on a refugee camp in Italy that turned up a network of terrorists using it as a base of operations. Investigators found multiple photos on their phones indicating potential targets and a plethora of ISIS propaganda.

Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon analyst, is one who is sending out the warning to take these threats more seriously before it’s too late. He is directly calling out the Obama administration for acquiring the wrong target:

“Home-grown extremism is accelerating and those around Obama are more interested in attacking those calling attention to the problem rather than the actual terrorists…

“The question now is whether the U.S. response is going to be denial or handicapped by political correctness. If there’s one lesson historians should take from the Obama administration, it is that declaring a problem non-existent or contained doesn’t make it so.

“Al Qaeda didn’t die with Bin Laden, no matter how much the journalists seeking Obama’s good graces desired. The Islamic State wasn’t a mere JV terror team, as not only Iraq and Syria, but also Egypt, Libya, and Afghanistan know too well.”
