Miami Dolphins teammates Arian Foster, Kenny Stills, Michael Thomas, and Jelani Jenkins all took a knee during their game against the Seattle Seahawks on September 11th, clearly, the most shameful of all days to sit out the national anthem.
But Foster defended his actions, insisting he loves the USA and the freedoms it grants him. In a tweet that day, Foster said, “Don’t let the love for a symbol overrule the love for your fellow human.”
The Dolphins stood by their players in a statement:
