YES! The John Paul 2 Medical Research Institute Provides Ethical Research for ALS August 22, 2014

I have gotten quite a few emails and I have seen many comments online questioning wether the alternative I have suggested for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge actually engages in research to find a cure for ALS.

The John Paul II Medical Research Institute has now updated its website to provide an answer:

We are receiving increasing financial support from donors asking whether their donations will go directly to support ALS research. We want to ensure people that any donation specifically directed towards finding a cure for ALS will be used to support medical research for that cause.

There are many worthwhile charities that give support and/or devote research to finding a cure for ALS that respect human life in all its stages.

Archbishop Gregory Aymond suggested supporting Team Gleason as an alternative to the ALSA.

n.b. I have no personal connection to either of these charities.
