Hello Ladies,
I have been on the road so much the last few weeks, first to PA for a family visit and friend’s wedding, then to visit the in-laws for a day, then to Notre Dame for a family retreat — which was really very good, for the most part.
Today, Eric has started his new job! He is, of course, so excited, and I am too. I am making a big fancy dinner to celebrate this new beginning in his legal career.
Also, we are going to visit the humane society and animal shelter this evening — we MAY be bringing home a new addition to the Babbs family – A dog! No decision yet on which dog it will be, but of course I will post photos and the whole story of how we picked our puppy (and by that, I mean how he or she picked us!)
Tonight’s menu:
Lasagna with locally raised, pastured lamb, yellow squash from our garden, and fresh mushrooms
locally grown green beans with fresh basil
blueberry platz (a Russian dessert like a cobbler)
I like to cook. It feels very loving for me to make a good, fresh, healthy meal for the people I love.
